Medical Assessment

Midshires recognises the importance for an independent, qualified and clinically professional assessment of each recipient’s unique needs.

In order to provide a national medical assessment service, Midshires retains the services of three independent Occupational Therapists who are strategically located and are therefore able to quickly respond to assessment requests anywhere in the UK.

The Occupational Therapists operate completely independently from Midshires, ensuring that the integrity of their assessments together with their professional opinions remains completely objective and are first and foremost in the recipient’s sole interests.

Each of the Occupational Therapist retained by Midshires is fully qualified to state registered status. Each therapist carries fully comprehensive liability insurance, plus professional indemnity insurance, ensuring complete legal protection to all parties involved in the supply chain.

With over eighty year’s experience between them, the Occupational Therapists referred by Midshires have a wealth of experience and detailed knowledge of mobility equipment; as such they are well accustomed to all of the products within the Midshires portfolio and have access to the full product range for assessment purposes.

On occasions where the recipient’s needs are unduly complex the therapist may call upon the services of our product specialist or seek unbiased advice directly from the manufacturer. In all cases the therapist will submit a fully comprehensive, written report, for each assessment.
